my guide to the sweaters of the season.

fall is here, winter is coming, and sweater weather is officially in! whether you're layering up for a chilly outdoor adventure or keeping it cozy indoors, the right sweater can make all the difference. here’s a guide to the season’s best styles to keep you warm and looking effortlessly chic all autumn long.

1. mock-neck sweater

mock-neck sweaters are a go-to when you want that warm, cozy feeling but without the bulk of a turtleneck. they’re great for both layering and on it’s own—i usually pair mine with a simple monochromatic look such as, jeans, leggings, or pants, and ankle or calf-high boots. if it’s chillier than normal fall weather, i’ll put on a coat or jacket to keep things polished. it’s the perfect sweater for those cold fall days!

2. v-neck sweater

v-neck sweaters are super versatile and give a more relaxed look to any outfit. you can wear one with a pair of high-waisted trousers or relaxed jeans or put it over a slip dress, add a silk skirt.

3. turtleneck sweater

the turtleneck sweater is always a fall essential, especially on those extra cold days. i love it styled under a trench coat with jeans and flats, or pants and boots. it’s classic and cozy, plus the high neck keeps you so warm—a relief for windy days!

4. off-shoulder sweater

for those who love to add that flair to their outfit or love to dress up, an off-shoulder sweater is such a fun piece. it’s great with jeans or a skirt for a more flirty look, perfect for wearing it to brunch or casual dinners. plus, the bare shoulder adds just the right amount of elegance!

5. fair isle sweater

fair isle sweaters bring both history and style to fall outfits. originally from the fair isle in scotland, this classic pattern has been worn for generations and is known for its beautiful, intricate designs and vibrant colors. it’s perfect for outdoor activities like apple picking or a fall hike, adding warmth and a festive feel to any casual look. you can wear it with leggings and hiking boots for a day outside, or dressing it up with a mini skirt, tights, and flats for something cozy yet chic.

6. cashmere sweater

there’s nothing quite like a cashmere sweater—it’s soft, warm, and just feels a bit more luxurious. it just creates a more put-together look. a cashmere sweater is one of those timeless pieces that goes with everything and lasts for years!

7. striped cardigan/sweater

stripes add a bit of fun to any look, and a striped cardigan or sweater is a great fall staple. i like layering it over a solid tee with jeans and sneakers for a casual look, or even over a dress for something more dressed-up. it’s an easy way to add pattern without going overboard.

8. sweater dress

sweater dresses are perfect for those days when you want to feel cozy but still look put together, yet don’t want to wear jeans or pants to do it. pair one with knee-high boots, flats, or sneakers or even a belt to cinch the dress. add a trench coat, and you’re ready for any fall outing. it’s such an easy piece to style, and you can keep it casual or dress it up!

i’ve added all links to each type of sweater to each picture for your shopping ease! happy shopping!
